What? Are the little folks going to cross the velvet rope to rub elbows with the front page social class? Assuming that's what you're giddy about, I'm not sure why you need a rating system to decide what meets LoR publishing standards - Especially considering the concerns that were brought up...
If debating subjects is the goal, then posting in the 'News' forum is more than a little counter productive. I crunched some numbers to support that claim. I took data from the 5th pages of the 'News' forum and the 'Science and Math' forum (the forum with the smallest number of replies/topic)...
So replying in the news forum should be locked and all discussions raised by the story should be posted as new threads in other sections? That actually doesn't sound unreasonable.
Edit: Sorry, I should explain my inference. A thread posted in this section is likely to raise discussions...
Ok, so the news forum is where you post recent events where the OP doesn't want to encourage a specific discussion? Is that closer to what you were trying to say?

If we're going to refer to this thread, lets evaluate it fairly. As Prolescum said, there was some chest thumping that needs to be considered. Another consideration is the fact that it was silently locked without explanation...
